Context
The goal of this project was to apply systems thinking to better understand and map the emerging technology landscape and to identify potential intervention points that could be leveraged to make artificial intelligence (AI) more equitable.
Research Question
How might we use a systemic approach to explore the AI ecosystem in order to suggest possible interventions to reduce bias and make the technology more equitable?
Interventions
Based on our research, our team identified four possible leverage points for intervention:
· Equitable government-supported funding
· Diverse hiring and company culture
· Ethics review association
· Public education and awareness
